Spirit And Life Devotional: Beware Of Cancerous Messages
II Timothy 2:16-18 NKJV “But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.”
What you hear determines your spiritual condition. Maybe I should have said, whatever you hear and accept as truth, will affect you either positively or negatively; your faith will grow or be overthrown as a result of what you hear and store in your heart. Therefore, who and what you listen to matters; the church you attend also matters!
Apostle Paul said that false teachings spread like cancer! And as you may know, cancer is a serious disease caused by abnormal cells, it’s very expensive to treat and it often kills. That’s the spiritual health condition of people who are affected by wrong teachings, they are in dire and urgent need of deliverance!
Mind what you receive into your spirit! Guard your heart with all diligence! Don’t keep listening to wrong teachings, whether from a pulpit or not, no matter how fantastic it sounds or is delivered. Your faith is so precious; protect it!
