Spirit And Life Devotional: The Dangers Of Unforgiveness

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

[pull_quote_center]“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14‭-‬15 [/pull_quote_center]

Dear believer, forgiveness is not an option, it is a must. Forgiveness is something that we owe everyone else. Colossians 3:13 says, “Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

You receive forgiveness from God every time you confess your sins, and the Bible says that God is faithful and just to forgive us: you can’t be a beneficiary of God’s forgiveness and not gladly forgive those who offend you. Jesus referred to people who have been forgiven by God, but refuse to forgive others as wicked servants! (Matthew 18:23-35)

Unforgiveness automatically gives Satan access to your life. No wonder a lot of believers are suffering. Unforgiveness has given Satan the right to harass them (2 Corinthians 2:10-11). Forgiveness is a product of love, and love is walking in the light. On the other hand, unforgiveness is associated with hatred, which is walking in darkness, and darkness is where Satan operates. It doesn’t matter what they did, forgive. God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Happy Sunday.
