Isn’t it interesting that years after the Father had sent the Holy Spirit to the earth, there were still people who didn’t even know about Him? Now, we can use them to teach about the need for growing in knowledge, we can blame people for their ignorance, and we can also explain to them how much their ignorance has cost them: but we can’t really blame them in such cases, if there’s anyone to be blamed at all, we will blame those with the responsibility for preaching – that’s you and I!
The Bible says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame, whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Which means that there’s a lot to benefit from believing in, and calling on the Lord. But Paul asked, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”
Brothers and sisters, the world will remain as it is and probably get worse; men will remain ignorant, in bongdage and continue to suffer; they will also be content with the way they are, except if we preach the liberating gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to them. Preaching is so important, never take it for granted! You and I have been given the responsibility of preaching, and the Bible says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Hallelujah!
