RABAT, Morocco — Nigeria’s Super Falcons pulled off a sensational comeback to defeat Morocco 3–2 in a pulsating Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final on Saturday, July 26, 2025, cementing their status as one of the tournament’s most resilient teams.
The match, played under humid evening skies, saw Morocco seize an early advantage with a goal from captain Ghizlane Chebbak in the 12th minute.
The North Africans doubled their lead through a well-placed strike by Sanaâ Mssoudy in the 24th, leaving Nigeria trailing by two goals at the break.
