A 17-year-old girl was lured to a hotel and violently raped by 27 men who claimed they wanted to give her a job.
The offer to come to the hotel came under the pretext of a job offer from a married couple, Rocky and Rani, who lived in the neighborhood of Jaipur in India.
It was gathered that after meeting with the couple on Sunday, August 30, 2015 the teen was led to a hotel where instead of helping her find a job she was left alone in a room and then gang-raped by 27 men, some of which were hotel staff.
During the over 24- hour ordeal, she was denied food and imprisoned inside a small room.
Luckily for her, she managed to escape and the reported to police about the incident, according to Mail Online.
The couple were arrested by the cops after they received the report of the sordid encounter, and they confessed that their intention was to sell her.
Authorities also arrested individuals identified as Mahesh, Anil, Arjun and Kamal, who not only worked in the hotel where the rape took place, but also participated in it.
According to the police, there had been suspicions earlier that the hotel had been engaging in unscrupulous affairs before.
An officer said: “It also emerged that the same hotel was earlier raided by police as they suspected it was involved in running prostitution rackets.”
However, according to India Today, despite the report of 27 people raping the teenager, and 29 involved overall, police have only confirmed the involvement of 10 people and only six arrests.
A search is ongoing for the other men confirmed to be involved in the assault while the authorities are meantime, working to verify the reports of the other suspects.
