The Return of the Prodigal Priest: Mbaka Resumes Role at Adoration Ministry

Must read

Ejike Mbaka, the priest and spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has returned from the monastery after eight months of suspension.

Daily Post reviewed a video circulating online on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, of a crowd welcoming Mbaka at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Recall that Enugu Catholic Diocese shut his Adoration Ministry on June 3, 2022, and banned Mbaka from commenting on political issues.

The Church later reopened the ministry and turned it into Chaplaincy to monitor the excesses in the ministry.

Later in October, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, asked Mbaka to proceed to the monastery for more revelations concerning his ministry.

Rev Fr Anthony Amadi was consequently named to replace him as the new chaplain of the Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy.

Catholic Diocese Of Enugu Breaks Silence On Removing Fr. Mbaka From Adoration Ministry

The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria has issued clarification on the reports of the reposting of the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, to the Monastery.

Padre Mike Umoh, a national Director of Social Communications, who gave the clarification in a statement on Monday, October 3, 2022, said Fr Mbaka was never removed as Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry.

He made the clarification in a statement titled: ‘Fr. Mbaka: The True Position.’

Fr Umoh said, “Going by an interview with the Director of Communications, Enugu Diocese, Rev. Fr. Benjamin Achi, Very Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka was not removed from the Adoration Ministry, as many reports are suggesting.”

Rather, according to Fr. Achi, since it was recommended that Fr. Mbaka takes time away in solitude, in order to listen to what the Spirit of God has to tell him, he was allowed to propose a priest to administer, in the interim, to the faithful at the Adoration Ministry.

He said, “With the approval of his Bishop, on Sunday, October 2, 2022, Fr. Mbaka introduced Fr. Anthony Amadi to the worshippers.

“Unfortunately, some people were still not pleased, and would prefer that Fr. Mbaka remains.

“What every true Christian, and especially every true Catholic, should do at this moment is to commit our dear brother and priest, Fr. Mbaka, to God in prayer so that he may, through this moment, encounter God specially, come out stronger and better in recognising His will for him and gain more graces to channel those rare gifts for His glory and for the sanctification of the people of God and society at large.

“The Church loves Fr. Mbaka and cherishes him as an illustrious son.

“May our Mother Mary, the Queen of all Apostles, intercede for him. Amen,” the statement partly read.

Father Mbaka Clears Air On Fresh Prophecy About Peter Obi

Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, AMEN, has denied reports that he prophesied against Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 election.

Reports had emerged that Mbaka said if Peter Obi is not disgraced at the polls in 2023, he is not called by God.

Mbaka, in a video posted on the church’s Facebook page, said he never spoke against Peter Obi.

Mbaka said, “After handing over to Fr Anthony Amadi on Sunday, I started hearing that Fr Mbaka spoke against Peter Obi. I Rev Fr Mbaka on that Sunday never mentioned Peter not to talk of Obi.

“Please whoever is being used by the devil to blackmail me in the name of doing any job for anybody, is satanic and should apologize, withdraw such nefarious, and satanic utterance, and be careful when you want to harm the image of a man of God.

“Whoever did that, I have forgiven you, but I want to hear that you have apologized and withdrew what you said against me on that day.”
