‘The Sun Shall Soon Shine’, A Debut Poetry Collection By Adejoke Ajibade-Bakare

The Sun Shall Soon Shine is the debut poetry collection of Adejoke Kafayat Ajibade-Bakare. It embodies life in its different phases and faces. This seventy-two page book, which contains a total of sixty-two poems, is a representation of the dreams we all aspire to achieve from the womb, to childhood, as a nation, as individual souls, and through life’s palaver. The Sun Shall Soon Shine is published internationally by Xlibris UK Publishing on October 13, 2015 and in Nigeria by Texy Productions, Lagos, on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. This year, the book is scheduled for five major international book exhibitions which are Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany, London Book Fair in United Kingdom, BookExpo America, Guadalajara Book Fair in Mexico and Beijing Book Fair in China,

The Sun Shall Soon Shine is currently at Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, Cambridge University Library, United Kingdom and National Library of Scotland, United Kingdom. Plans are underway to donate some copies of the book to the National Library of Nigeria, Lagos.

It is can be purchased online on the Facebook fan page of the Sun Shall Soon Shine, Barnes and Noble Read Instantly, Amazon Look Inside and Google BooksPreview. Plans are underway to have it available in major book stores in Nigeria immediately after the book launch.

According to Adejoke Ajibade-Bakare, “My vision for The Sun shall Soon Shine is for it to positively impact the minds of readers towards becoming the best version of themselves, appreciating and understanding life for what it truly is.

“I also intend to get it to the hands of as many youths as possible; they need to be empowered and exposed to the rising realities of everyday life understanding that amidst all experiences, there are lessons to be learnt and opportunities for success.”

Adejoke Kafayat Ajibade-Bakare was born in Offa, Kwara state, Nigeria. Her passion for poetry was born in 2009 during a transitional phase of her life into motherhood. Her poem Cold Path was published in Forward Press Regionals (UK) 2010- The World Is Your Oyster. The Sun Shall Soon Shine is her debut book.

Adejoke is a Corporate Communications Specialist in a reputable downstream oil & gas company in Lagos. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Marketing & Advertising from Coventry University in the West Midlands in the United Kingdom. Adejoke is also a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Marketing.
