Lena Dunham can wear what she wants, when she wants, even if that means underwear, rain boots and a smile to dinner.
Dunham posed for a photo in green lingerie, and shared the snapshot on Instagram Monday. In her caption, the “Girls” star mused about fashion freedom.
“Love my @lonelylingerie and I think I will wear it to dinner with some boots & a smile because we are all very lucky to be free,” she wrote.
Helene Morris, the creator and designer of the Lonely Label, founded Lonley in 2009 with a vision of female empowerment. The Lonely Girls Project is a photo series that supports women and body positivity.
Morris is thrilled to count Dunham as a fan.
“We’re always so excited to see smart, strong, creative women wearing Lonely. Lena looks absolutely amazing in her set,” she said in a statement sent to The Huffington Post. “We started the Lonely Girls Project because we wanted to represent women in a positive and powerful way. The Lonely Girls aren’t telling women how they should look. We want women to look at the imagery and realize they don’t have to be a certain way to feel beautiful. We simply wanted to offer the idea that it is okay to be yourself.”
