A rape survivor has named six people, including a woman, who attacked her in a five star hotel in Delhi, police reports reveal.
The woman was working as a tour guide when she was attacked near India Gate in the country’s capital on Friday.
Police say she contacted police the next day and officers found the room had been booked by two businessman.
The woman said a man called her to the hotel saying he would be able to grant her a loan at low rates because she was in “dire need of money”.
A man from the Sheikh Sarai area of the city has been arrested in connection to the brutal attack.
And the five other people are still being investigated.
Eish Singhal, New Delhi’s deputy police commissioner, told NDTV in India: “On the victim’s complaint, a case was registered against six accused persons including one woman.
“The victim was lured to the hotel room on the pretext of providing loan at subsidised rates by the accused persons.
“The victim worked as tourist guide/booking agent and she was in dire need of money.
“The room was booked under the name of two business persons.”
