‘Buhari must ensure N5,000 stipend is paid’ – Shettima Yerima

Must read

President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Shettima Yerima has expressed disappointment over the APC-led government backtracking on campaign promises made prior to the 2015 general elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the N5,000 stipend promise made to unemployed graduates will not be paid.

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed justified Buhari’s decision citing the fall in oil prices as the reason for not meeting up to campaign promises.

The minister said the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has to downsize on promises made as they have failed to meet them.

Alhaji Yerima said “To me, it is an abuse on the sensibilities of Nigerians for any politician to come out publicly and make promises to Nigerians.

“After securing the office, such politician now reneges on their promises. It is uncalled for and I do not think it is right.

“The president must find a way and ensure that the stipend is paid.”
