Neighbours claim that Scott was killed after complaining about a neighbour’s loud music

A young dad was allegedly stabbed to death after a row with a neighbour over loud music.
Scott Stone, 26, was fatally wounded by a single stab wound on Sunday night following a confrontation in a stairwell, according to neighbours.
A 52-year-old named locally as Paul Dillon has been arrested on suspicion of murder and held in custody.
Police were called at 6.35pm after Scott reportedly asked Mr Dillon who lived in the flat above to turn his music down.
Fellow residents said Scott had complained his reggae music was keeping his young daughter awake.
Ambulance crews attended Guinness House in Welwyn Garden City, Herts, after neighbours raised the alarm but Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.
A neighbour said: “The guy who died had a partner and a young baby. I think there was a row about the music.”
He leaves behind two brothers George, 30, and Jamie, 25, and his mother Lesley who were still coming to terms with the news yesterday.
Childhood friend and neighbour Ally Musgrove neighbour tweeted: “RIP SCOTT STONE.
“Shocked. Speechless. 25 too young. Leslie, George and Jamie I’m so sorry 🙁 I’m so sorry 🙁
“Rip honey one sweet kind young man.”
Forensic experts in white boiler suits were combing the scene and the block of flats were cordoned off with police tape.
Floral tributes and cards were laid by well-wishers outside the flats during the afternoon.
One card left with the flowers read: “Scott, I will cherish every memory, photo, thought. Love you always. Sleep tight. Love Nicola.”
Another read: “You will be missed Scott. Love Louise, Blake and Alfie XXX.”
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “A 26-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City sustained a stab wound. The ambulance service attended but the man sadly passed away at the scene.
“A 52-year-old man, also from Welwyn Garden City, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
“A police cordon has been put around the immediate area where the incident took place while police carry out inquiries.”
Police remained on each floor of the flats yesterday as teams collected belongings in evidence bags.
Chief Inspector Jo Walker said the death was the second murder to be investigated in the area in the last four days.
Carl Wheatley has been charged with murdering his four-year-old daughter, Alexa-Marie, at their home in Hatfield, on March 13.
Chief Insp Walker said: “We do not believe the deaths are linked.
“We have one person charged in connection with the death of Alexa-Marie in Hatfield and a further person in custody for the death in Welwyn Garden City on Sunday.
“I am sure that the deaths currently being investigated in Welwyn and Hatfield will be of concern to residents.
“These are highly unusual events for the borough and I would reassure people that we have a number of experienced and specialist officers investigating them.
“My deepest sympathies go out to the families of both victims. Specialist family liaison officers will be providing them with support at this extremely distressing time.”
A 48-year-old woman said she had returned to her home at 7.30pm on Sunday and police would not let her back Read into her flat until 9pm.
She said: “We have wanted to move for a long time and I think this has just put us over the edge.”
