Jonathan Successfully Fought Corruption Without Making Noise – Falana

Renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has come out to laud former President Goodluck Jonathan over his successful, civilized fight against corruption.

Speaking on Channels Television in Lagos on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Falana said that “contrary to the general belief that former President closed his eyes to corruption, President Goodluck Jonathan did so much in the fight against corruption including the sack of three of his ministers for alleged graft.”

While lending his voice to an earlier remark by Bishop Matthew Kukah, who spoke last week, Falana, who during the electioneering period was a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and an ardent critic of Jonathan said the former President carried out the most successful recovery of stolen government loot and did not much as much of a fuss about it.

While reeling out Jonathan’s accomplishments, Falana called to memory the fact the Jonathan introduced a single account for the country, thereby saving billions in leakages.

He also hailed Jonathan  for the electronic payroll payment system, the biometric registration of federal workers which helped fish out 50,000 ghost pensioners and 68,000 workers

He further hailed Jonathan for introducing the Single Contract Requisition system with a Legislative oversight and the cashless economy which led to the disappearance of “Ghana-Must-Go” bag from the National Assembly and around the corridors of his administration.

He also noted that trillions of Naira were was recovered through these high tech systems, and none of them was advertised.
