12 Of Our Favourite Moments From Kim Kardashian’s Recent Talk On Love, Life, And Selfies

Must read

Known for her love of selfies, it was no surprise that Kim Kardashian offered her advice on how to take the best one at the prestigious Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on Tuesday.

The selfie queen gave the talk after an invitation from Judge LaDoris Cordell, and it was surprisingly deep. She covered race, objectification of women, gave her stance on gun control, and even left everyone misty-eyed when she revealed who, dead or alive, she’d love to interview.

Whoa there Kim. We weren’t expecting that.

Here are 11 of the best things she revealed during her Q&A…

1. Surprise, surprise, she loves social media

‘I’m so open, I definitely over-share but I’m really engaged. I do it all myself. I can tell when someone in the business isn’t doing it themselves.’

2. In fact she loves it so much she uses it to make fans’ days

‘I tweeted and asked what her what seat she was in, so I asked her to come and sit with me. I love her energy, I love following so I’m so excited to spend her birthday with her. That would never happen unless social media existed.’

3. But, believe it or not, she says she has actually scaled back a little bit:

‘I used to film everything but now I’ve stopped doing that. I don’t always share birthdays and I have time with my daughter when she has her breakfast.

‘I’m a workaholic but I make time for my daughter.’

4. Then she revealed how to take the best selfie, of course

‘Do it in the mirror, it’s all about angles. Know your angles. I Iike up to down and there you go – a perfect selfie.’

5. She said she doesn’t believe people know the real Kim

‘I think that people see this persona on my TV show, there are lots of us on it so I know they like to show all of the funny stuff. People think that’s all there is to me.

‘I think there is a stigma but I’m focused and I do what I have to get done. I really don’t care like I used to.’

6. And revealed her pretty nasty experience with racism

‘I did have an awful experience on a plane once, she was slurring racial things at me. North was less than one so she didn’t know. I was about to go over and say something then an Indian man stopped me and said it just isn’t worth it.

‘So I have experienced it but Kanye and I together are so open, he is so vocal about race, so I think we’ll be really helpful for our children. We will talk to our children the way our dad spoke to us. He had lots of friends in bi-racial relationships and I think he knew I would be in an inter-racial relationship, he would tell me story after story.’

7. She says she never regrets a photoshoot

‘I always learn from my mistakes but something like a photoshoot, I never regret. I would so do them over. Something like the Paper magazine, I loved that shoot.

‘It was so empowering to me, I was trying to get pregnant, I had put on so much weight but it was my, ‘I’m confident again’.’

8. Spoiler alert! She’s pro-gun control

‘If there was gun control… They scare me so much. ‘I’m not the type to have them in my house – the security at the front of my house might but not in my house.

‘I truly honestly believe we don’t have strict enough gun control laws and it would change a lot.’

9. She gave everyone a warm feeling when she talked about Caitlyn

‘The response has been overwhelmingly so positive, I hope people understand it, or have compassion. I hope people are non-judgmental.

‘People have been so amazing and Caitlyn appreciates that so much.’

10. And admitted that the Kardashian family are in group therapy

‘We showed everyone in the show because everyone has a different emotional transition of their own to accept this. Sometimes I think it’s about Caitlyn, but it’s the family around.

‘We go to group therapy together. Caitlyn has taught me to be less judgemental. I’m just so happy that people have been so open to this change.’

11. Kim then revealed what everyone has been wondering – what made her fall for Kanye West

‘I love the way he creates, thinks, stands up for what he believes in whole-heartedly. He is such a good person. I have gotten a lot of my confidence from him, I used to care so much about what people thought of me. He has taught me to not care, he is such an honest person’

12. And then she got everyone weepy with who she’d loved to interview – dead or alive- if she could

‘Donda West.

‘I would just like to get to know her.’
