4 Men Arraigned For Alleged Conspiracy, Armed Robbery In Bayelsa

NAN – Four men were on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 brought before a Bayelsa State High Court charged with conspiracy and armed robbery.

The accused persons are Godknows Chima, Wonyinwomoemi Keinere, Okara Miebi, Ebitimi Anganga.

According to the prosecution, the accused committed the offences on Aug. 6, 2014, along Deeper Life Road Ompadec, Amarata in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The first accused allegedly robbed one Eneware Tombra of various personal items including Apple Ipad valued at N135,000, two Toshiba laptops valued at N155,000 each and one Samsung mobile phone valued at N10,000.

He was also alleged to have stolen three Nokia mobile phones valued at N15,000 while the two others were valued at N10,000 each cash of N20,000, wrist watch valued at N35,000, a gold chain worth N24,000 and some other valuables.

Keinere the second accused was allegedly in unlawful possession of two locally made pistols.

The prosecution also alleged that the first, third and fourth accused persons were found to be in unlawful possession of two locally made pistols in September 2014 at Azikoro Village.

Justice M.I. Akpomiemie adjourned the case to June 3 for continuation of trial and ruled that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody.
