4 Reverend Sisters Die In Cross River Auto Crash [GRAPHIC PHOTOS]

Four Reverend sisters of the Catholic church who were supposedly on a missionary assignment have been confirmed dead while two escaped with injuries following a fatal auto crash that occurred in Cross River State.

The head-on collision happened in the night of Tuesday, February 9, 2016 along the Nkarasi/Alok axis of the Ikom-Ogoja highway.

It was learnt that the driver of a truck conveying soft drinks lost control and rammed into the Toyota Sienna car which was driven by one of the deceased nuns from Ogoja Local Government Area, LGA, to Biase LGA.

An official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, who preferred anonymity told Daily Post that six reverend sisters were on board the vehicle.

He said, “Two of them were badly wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital in Ikim LGA, whereas, four were confirmed dead.”

The official noted that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at a nearby morgue until family members come for identification, adding that they were making efforts to discover the parish where they were attached to.
