Remembrance Day Rally: 62 MASSOB Members Arraigned In Imo

62 out of 68 members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) arrested on Saturday, May 30, 2015 have been dragged to court by the Imo State Police Commissioner, Austin Evbakhavbokun over allegations of conspiracy, belonging to an unlawful organisation and emerging in conduct that would have caused breach of  peace in the state.

The CP, confirmed this while he was addressing journalists in his office, while adding that some exhibits recovered from the suspects included Biafran uniforms, Biafran identity cards, flags and some buses.

“The suspects were clad in MASSOB/Biafran uniforms with insignia such as Biafran/MASSOB flags, marched towards the Port Harcourt-Owerri federal highway, chanting war songs in such a manner as to cause breach of peace,” he said.

The CP, stated that the suspects without permission from the authorities stormed Owerri to celebrate an unlawful action stating that such actions were seditious abd unwarranted.
