An AirAsia airplane has overshot the runway at an airport in the Philippines on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 forcing an emergency landing at kalibo, Daily mail reports.
The Airbus A320-216e was said to be carrying 153 passengers and crew from the Filipino capital Manila.

Jet Damazo-Santos, a local journalist who was one of the passengers in the airplane is uploaded photographs to twitter showing chaotic scenes as passengers were compelled to disembark the aircraft on emergency slides.
She wrote: ‘Engine was shut immediately, we were told to leave bags, deplane at once. Fire truck was waiting,’ she said, adding that there appeared to be no injuries despite the plane coming to an ‘abrupt stop’.

The cause of the chaos, according to Damazo-Santos was blamed on bad weather caused by tropical storm Seniang, which has been battering the Philippines for several days.
