APC Youths Swear To Wreak Havoc In Aso Rock, Major Cities If Elections Are Shifted

Must read

The youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, March 5, 2015 promised to occupy Aso rock and major cities if the forthcoming election fails to hold on the rescheduled dates of Saturday, March 28, 2015 for national elections and Saturday, April 11, 2015 for state elections.

They also vowed to do the same if the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega is removed before the election.

Speaking at a meeting by the zonal and state APC youth leaders in Abuja, the leader for North-west geopolitical zone, Mr. Shehu Marshal accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of interfering with the electoral process.

He said: “Our position is that the march 28 and April 11 election dates are  sacrosanct otherwise we will occupy Aso Rock and other major cities in Nigeria.

The APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Ibrahim Jalo said the PDP should not attempt to postpone the election again as it will not be tolerated like the previous occasion.

He said: “We want to tell them that we have accepted it as our leaders have accepted it but election will be held on the 28 of March and that 28 remains sacrosanct because we will not tolerate any other shift in election dates.

“As law abiding citizens we have accepted it but if it comes to a point that the government and INEC  do not want to conduct election, we will definitely have to take the necessary steps legally possible,” he said.

On the issue of Jega, Jalo said: “If they remove him, that will take us back and everything has to start afresh from the beginning, even though they have no reason whatsoever to do that.”
