Boko Haram: Nigeria launches Airstrikes In Bama

The Nigerian military has deployed warplanes in Bama, Borno state to fight Boko Haram who have held the community hostage for a long time.

The rising terrorists attacks has caused residents of Bama to flee the town since insurgents started unleashing terror on them since Monday.

The military has resorted to air strikes to repel and dislodge the Islamist extremists group.

Reuters quoted a senior military official as saying air strikes had also been launched against Boko Haram’s bases across the state.

“Bama today is the centre of the military battle with the terrorists… Boko Haram is being repelled by the Nigerian troops as we are talking now,” he said.

A resident of Maiduguri, the state capital has confirmed that planes were seen flying towards the direction of Bama.

The military are doing their best to restore calm i the state.
