As the march towards the 2023 general elections becomes tougher, the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has sacked his deputy, Mr Crowther Seth.
The Director-General of Media and Communications, Mr Solomon Kumangar has confirmed the development.
Fintiri dumped his deputy, Crowther Seth and settled for a female don, Professor Kalatepwa Farauta who is the current vice-chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi.
The sacking is to enable him to settle for a more popular person than the current deputy governor who had been enmeshed in hundreds of allegations.
Crowther Seth who is the incumbent deputy of Adamawa State has faced a tumultuous reign over issues of loyalty to the Governor as well as a dearth of popularity in the Numan federation where he hails from.
The deputy Governor faced his baptism of fire during a councillorship bye-election of his ward in Lamurde which the candidate of the ruling PDP was roundly defeated was a signal to show the unpopularity of Seth in the Numan zone.
Another controversy involving the deputy Governor was his alleged bias in the raging communal clashes between the Lunguda and Waja ethnic nationalities in Guyuk local government.
It was reported that Seth supported Waja in the fight that has produced hundreds of casualties.
Before now there have been rumours of dumping Seth, but today Mr. Solomon said confirmed the development to our reporter.
“Yes, it is true my principal has picked Professor Kelatapwa Farauta as running mate for the 2023 governorship election,”
Professor Kelatapwa Farauta was until her appointment, the VC of Adamawa State University and a commissioner of Education when Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was the Acting Governor.
She also served as the Executive Chairman of Universal Basic Education in Adamawa before her appointment as commissioner of Education.
Professor Kelatapwa Farauta hails from Numan local government area the same southern zone while the present Deputy Governor is from Lamurde Local Government Area.
Similarly, the All Progressive Congress APC gubernatorial flagbearer, Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has also picked Hon. Titsi Ganama as her running mate for the 2023 governorship election in Adamawa.
Titsi Ganama, a former House of Representatives member hails from the Northern senatorial zone, which is the same zone that Governor Fintiri comes from.
