A gang of about 15 youth have attacked the Magistrates’ Court in Orlu, Imo State and set the court building on fire. The Magistrates’ Court is at the Orlu High Court premises.
Punch reports that this incident occurred in the morning of Wednesday, August 22, 2018 and that the fire destroyed “all the documents” in the court.
The Police spokesperson in the state, Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the incident to journalists in a telephone conversation, said that it was a case of suspected arson.
Mr. Enwerem said that the commissioner of police, Daduki Galadanchi, had mandated the Area Commander in charge of Orlu zone to commence full investigations into the matter.
