After 11 weeks of intrigues, tension, suspense, and a fiercely, Efe, the Warri boy and radio personality, has been declared winner of the hit TV reality show, Big Brother Naija. His victory comes after fans ran a spirited campaign for him to “bring home the money”.
In the series’ finale on Sunday, April 9, 2017, Efe came out tops beating out the five other contestants who made it to the finales. In 2nd place was Bisola, the former Project Fame contestant and singer.
In 3rd place was T. Boss, considered by many to be Efe’s closest rival. Debby Rise came fourth, while Marvis got the least votes and came third.
With this victory, Efe has beaten 11 other contestants and goes home with the grand prize of N25 million and an SUV car, courtesy of Multichoice Nigeria.
The winner polled a whopping 57.61% of the overall votes.
Big Brother Naija has had an eventual 11-week season and was rocked by a number of controversies.
After a 10 year hiatus, the show was repackaged to give more Nigerian youth the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world, a statement from Multichoice said.
The year’s edition was hosted by former Big Brother Nigeria housemate, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
There were other wins for the night. TBoss won the least time in all Payporte games, while Bisola carted away the prize for having the best ONE campaign presentation for the education of the girl-child.
TBoss was presented with a N500,000 cheque and Bisola will join the ONE Campaign team in New York City for the girl-child education at the United Nations.
The grand finale was quite exciting as the live audience and viewers were treated to music from two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars: 2Baba and Tiwa Savage.
