A federal high court in Abuja, has awarded the sum of N100,000 against the Department of State Services, DSS, for disobeying an order for the release Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow and publisher of SaharaReporters.
The presiding judge, Ijeoma Ojukwu said, in her ruling of Thursday, December 5, 2019, that the DSS cannot constitute itself as parallel court of law.
Justice Ojukwu asked the security agency, which serves as the country’s secret police, to release the activist within 24 hours.
