Gabon To host 2017 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 announced that Gabon will host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Gabon beat Ghana and Algeria to win the hosting rights on the 31st edition of the biennial football showdown.

In a related development Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn alongside Egypt, Tanzania and Chad in Group G of the qualifying series for the competition.
