Ladies of St. Mulumba (LSM) of the Catholic Church of Nigeria has decorated Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan as “Mother Theresa of Today’’ ‘

‘Mama Peace’, as she’s fondly called, was decorated because of her impactful humanitarian works done through her pet project, the Women for Change and Development Initiative (W4CDI).

The decoration was done by the president of LSM, Chief Ngor Nwachukwu, the president of LSM, at the Presidential Villa I Abuja on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.

Nwachukwu commended that W4CDI has recorded positive changes in the society as there is evidently a strong wind of change blowing off poverty, disease, hunger across the nation.

“We appreciate her effort for initiating an empowerment programme and sustaining hope for women in particular and to all in general,” she said.

Nwachukwu also praised the supportive gesture of the First lady to Mr President, describing her as a front line model to every mother.

The First lady in response, commended the group for their effort and appreciated them for the kind gesture shown to her as she sees the act as a solidarity support for the transformation agenda of her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan.

She also thanked the group for its acknowledgment of her contributions to the society with the decoration as Mother Theresa of Today.

“It was Mother Theresa of old who said `being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody I think that is a much greater hunger, a greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat,’ she said.
