‘We Are All Biafrans’: Chido Onumah Was Arrested By DSS For Wearing Vest With Title Of His Book

Chido Onumah, a journalist and activist, who was arrested by operatives of Nigeria’s secret police, the State Security Services, SSS, also known as DSS, has been released.

According to findings by The Trent, Dr. Orumah, who was arrested as he arrived Abuja airport from Spain at about 4pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019 was released at about 10:30 pm after some hours of questioning.

He was picked by operatives of the DSS because he wore a t-shirt with the title of his recent book, “We Are All Biafrans” printed on it.

“The officers approached him and asked him whether he was a Nigerian, to which Chido responded, ‘I am Nigerian’,” a source familiar with the situation told our reporter.

They then asked him why he was wearing a shirt with the inscription, ‘We Are All Biafrans’ and he replied that that was the title of his recent book.

“They took him to their office in Central Abuja for questioning under the guise of intelligence of a planned protest.

“At the office, after many hours of interrogation, they eventually let him go at about 10:30 pm,” someone close to the situation told The Trent.
