Civil Defence Arrests ‘Notorious Pipeline Vandal’ In Lagos

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Saturday January 2014, arrested a notorious petroleum pipeline vandal, Dayo Okiki, in Lagos State.

The arrest followed the receipt of an intelligence report, NSCDC made this known in a statement released.

Telegraph reports:

It said the men of the corps acted on the information about “an intended act of pipeline vandalism and oil theft to be carried out by one Dayo Okiki  in both Ogun and Lagos States respectively.

“In our effort to ensure zero tolerance to vandalism in year 2014, we carried out an extraordinary search of Isala creek, Mojoda and Igbonla which led to the arrest of the suspect  this morning,” the corps stated.

The Civil Defence said that the information at its disposal revealed that the suspect bought a Lexus Jeep, two Bedfords and two cover body trucks capable of holding 800 kegs at a given moment.

It NSCDC called on Nigerians to continue to give information that could lead to the arrest of other members of his gangs so that they could be brought to book.
