CONFUSION: 8 Spokespersons For Atiku Presidential Campaign

Internal politics and rival appears to have won in the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation as there are eight spokespersons for the campaign.

Atiku, a former vice president and leading contender in the 2019 presidential race, appears to be trying to pacify various interests in the PDP by not appointing a spokesperson for his campaign.

A statement signed by the delivered to The Trent by Whatsapp on Saturday, December 1, 2018 named the directors of the directorates in the PDP Presidential Campaign along with the spokespersons of the campaign.

The statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, the national spokesperson of the PDP, indicated that Bolaji Abudullahi, the former national spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is the director of Communications and Strategy for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Others are Buba Galadima, Akin Osuntokun, Osita Chidoka, Nnenna Ukeje, Segun Sowunmi, Kazeem Afegbua and Umar Sanni.

Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, who had announced himself as the spokesperson for the Atiku campaign on Friday. But he is only named in the official statement as the director of NGOs and CSOs.

According to a news report, the eight names were arrived at after a heated argument among the members of the council, a majority of whom were said to have what a source called “vested interests.”

PDP Presidential Campaign Names Directorates, Spokespersons

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council has released the Operational Directorates, as well as names of spokespersons for its 2019 Presidential elections campaign.

The campaign council named former governor of Cross River state, Senator Liyel Imoke as Deputy Director General, Operations while former Presidential aspirant, Taminu Turaki, SAN, is named as Deputy Director-General, Administration.

The Directorates include:
Contact and Mobilization headed by the National Organizing Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu; Youth, Hon. Udeh Okoye; Women, Mariya Waziri; Finance, Hon. Abdullahi Hussaini MaiBasira; Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan; Policy/Research, Dr. Garba Umar; Intelligence, Amb. Ahmed Magaji;

Others are, Field Operations/Logistics, Hon. Gbenga Oduwaiye; Support Groups, Dr. Nathaniel Yadunma; Special Duties, Dr. Baraka Sanni; Communication and Strategy, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi; Legal, Emmanuel Enoidem; CUPP & Inter-party, Senator Ben Obi; CSOs, Senator Dino Melaye; and Diaspora, Prof. Isah Odidi.

The spokespersons of the campaign include Buba Galadima, Akin Osuntokun, Osita Chidoka, Senator Dino Melaye, Hon. Nnenna Ukeje, Segun Sowunmi, Kazeem Afegbua and Umar Sanni.
