The Nigeria Police have transferred a total of 11 suspected cult leaders arrested in Edo State to Abuja for prosecution.

The twist of the story though, according to Nigerianews24 , is the fact that all the captured criminal suspects were in possession of the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership cards.

Police Spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu while parading the suspects to the press in Abuja on Monday, May 18, 2015 explained that some items recovered from some of the suspects included 15 international passports, 17 APC membership cards and 34 APC membership registration forms alongside one stunt gun, a number of ATMs, cheque booklets and cult membership registration forms.

According to Ojukwu, the captured thugs were responsible for terrorizing Edo state by sparking vicious inter and intra-cult clashes that had led to much loss of lives and property in the state.

However, two of the suspects denied being cult members but said they belonged to registered organisations which had helped the police to address cultism in the state.

They claimed to have been arrested at a meeting summoned by the police in Edo to discuss and find ways of tackling cult and violence-related crimes in the state.

  1. Many when they think of terrorism think of raving lunatics with AK47’s and bombs strapped around their waste screaming to the sky.

In reality terrorism can take many other forms. Arguably those moving stealthily to infiltrate themselves and their friends into the highest possible places in government, banking and the judiciary pose just as much danger to us and yet far fewer headlines.

The obvious example of that effecting our country comes from the menaces of cultism displayed here and through the decades of killings.

We can finally start dreaming of the day where we have a world without these mafia cults.

Still some big cultists in plain view laughing at us all though. There needs to be action now outside of Edo State too as well more within it. Lets have more than just a couple of days action to just send a message. Let’s rid the country of these cultists once and for all. Starting with the successful prosecution of this lot if not for the conspiracy to murder charge… the obvious charge of cultism.
