Edo: 4 Boko Haram Terrorists ‘Planning Co-ordinated Attacks Against Police’ Arrested

The Edo State Police command on Saturday, April 20, 2019, said it has arrested 4 suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram members planning coordinated attacks against Police formations in the State.

In a statement made available to journalists in Benin City, by the Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor stated that “Based on credible intelligence through the Directorate of State Security, DSS, in conjunction with the officers of the office of the Inspector General of Police.

Edo State Command was alerted by the Inspector of Police that the above criminal elements are planning cordinated attacks against the Police formations in Edo State.

“The Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP Danmallam Mohammed directed the tactical teams of the Command to go after the criminals.

On April 19, 2019, a robust raiding, coding and search was conducted within Auchi axis which resulted to the arrest of the following suspects; Salisu Uzovehe 23, Hadi Muss Gambari 23, Tijani Haruna 24 and Mohammed Abdulrasaq 44.”

The Statement described the suspects as deadly and notorious gang members of kidnapping and armed robbery syndicates that are terrorizing Kogi and Edo State axis.”

Items recovered from the suspects are one old cartoon color Toyota valet car marked AG-721-AGZ, one pump action gun, two locally made gun, twenty live cartridges, a pair of police mobile force uniform, two face masks and charms.

Chidi Nwabuzor advised members of the public to be vigilant and report suspicious movement of persons to the police.
