John Ogunji a 45-year old farmer is alleged to have killed his wife Christianah Ogunji in Okitipupa, Ondo following an arguement over how a bag of garri (cassava flour) was to be shared.

Vanguard reports that the scuffle started after the farmer insisted that they share a bag of garri, an idea that did not go down well with his wife, as she felt food should not be shared in the house, regardless of their feud.

Her disagreement with his proposal subsequently led to a free for all fight, during which Mr. Ogunji hit his wife on the head with a plank, making her unconscious.

The 39-year old Christianah was later rushed to a hospital but gave up the ghost before getting there.

Confirming the incident, police image make for Ondo State, Wole Ogod said the suspect is currently being held at the Ondo state police headquarters in Akure, the state capital and would be charged to court pending the completion of investigations.
