The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi has taken a socialite, Wuraola Otiti Zynab Obanor, as a new wife.
The newly crowned Yoruba monarch was absent at the wedding ceremony which took place at the bride’s family home at Ewere Street in Benin City on Saturday, March 12, 2016. A a dowry of N25 was paid and accepted for Obanor, who is an architect based in Dubai, UAE.
Following the payment of the bride price, Obanor was presented to the Ife Royal family and she sat on the lap of her new father-in-law, HRH, Omooba Oluropo Ogunwusi. By this ceremony, Obanor takes on the title of Olori, which means the king’s consort.
The Ooni of Ife was represented by a palace delegation made up of some palace chiefs and his father.
Oba Enitan Ogunwusi is in his early 40s and he married Miss Ronke Ademiluyi in 2007. Traditional rulers in Nigeria are often polygamous. READ MORE about the wedding ceremony HERE.
