LAGOS, Nigeria — Television presenter Frank Edoho and his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, exchanged accusations publicly as details surrounding the breakdown of their marriage fuelled widespread discussion across Nigerian social media platforms.
The dispute intensified after Onyenucheya published a lengthy Instagram statement on Thursday, May 15, 2026, accusing Edoho of infidelity, emotional abuse, neglect and financial irresponsibility during their marriage.
“Choosing to remain silent may give mixed signals to the narrative that a sadist and narcissist peddles, making everyone believe he is a victim,” she wrote.
Onyenucheya alleged that Edoho had maintained relationships with multiple women during their marriage and accused him of failing to meet financial obligations toward their children.
“A dead beat! That is exactly what you are,” she wrote. “I singlehandedly paid all your bills, the trips, business class tickets, 5 star hotels, luxury trips, all the home bills including that of the other children from your previously failed marriage.”
She also claimed that Edoho had pressured her to terminate a pregnancy and described what she characterised as emotional and physical mistreatment during the relationship.
“But a time comes when a woman must choose herself,” she added. “I chose myself and walked away, filed for divorce too.”
Edoho later responded publicly to the allegations, rejecting claims of abandonment and accusing Onyenucheya of having a relationship with singer Chike while they were still married.
“Since December 2022 till January last year (2025), that news that came out is very true,” Edoho said while discussing the controversy. “I approached that stupid guy because this is my second marriage.”
According to Edoho, he confronted the singer after obtaining recordings of conversations between Chike and Onyenucheya.
“I told him that if my wife was stupid enough to cheat on her husband, why would he encourage it?” Edoho said. “I told him I have two boys with this woman and I want to raise them.”
He said he initially attempted to preserve the marriage for the sake of their children but alleged that the relationship between Onyenucheya and the singer continued.
“In the audio, she was the one encouraging the guy,” he said.

Divorce Proceedings and Financial Claims
Edoho also spoke about divorce proceedings between the pair, claiming Onyenucheya sought monthly payments of ₦4 million for the children’s upkeep.
“She was asking me to pay her N4m every month for the children’s upkeep and I said that it’s not happening,” he said.
He added that he intended to release evidence supporting his claims, including recordings he said were obtained after secretly monitoring conversations between Onyenucheya and Chike.
In comments previously given to Saturday Beats, Edoho had declined further interviews about the separation.
“I am not going to grant any interview because what is the gain for me in talking to PUNCH about my life?” he said.
He also dismissed claims that he had failed financially during the marriage.
“Indeed. And I left her two years ago and she is still sponsoring,” he said. “Don’t worry, let people have that perspective.”
Later, Edoho wrote that he and Onyenucheya had already been separated for nearly two years before the current controversy became public.
“I truly appreciate the empathy,” he stated.
“While I understand that the public is only just becoming aware of this chapter, I have lived through it privately for quite some time now(almost 2 years) and have since made peace with it emotionally.”

Online Reaction and Responses
The dispute prompted extensive reactions online, including commentary surrounding singer Chike after social media users circulated allegations linking him to Onyenucheya.
One X user identified as Danny of Owerri wrote: “But why would Chike sleep with Frank Edoho’s wife. Why? I use to see Chike as a responsible guy.”
Attention also turned to recent social media posts shared by Onyenucheya and Chike, who both posted the song “You’re The Closest To Heaven” by an Australian singer on Friday, prompting speculation among online users.
The controversy further revived interest in an earlier interview in which Chike discussed his preference for older women during an appearance on The Unpack Podcast hosted by NAY.
Several women named by Onyenucheya in her allegations publicly denied having romantic relationships with Edoho.
Amaka Okeke, who Onyenucheya accused of involvement with Edoho, denied the allegation in an Instagram statement.
“Frank Edoho and I met in 2024 on strictly business related matters and only became good friends in May 2025 when he was dealing with a personal matter,” Okeke wrote.
“Any narrative beyond this is completely untrue.”
She added that her legal representatives had been informed.
Reality television personality Tega Dominic also appeared to respond to the allegations on Instagram, writing: “It’s all cap.”
