A Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere has described as fraudulent, the documents that resulted to the nomination and selection of the monarch of Igboye in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Justice Iyabo Kasali on Wednesday April 20,2016, told the monarch, Oba Michael Gbedebo Onakoya, not to parade himself as the traditional ruler of Igboye area of Lagos State.

The court declared as illegal the previous nomination of the ruler to the stool of Igboye.

The directive was given in a suit filed by representatives of Ewade Ruling House who rejected the crowning of the monarch.

Alhaji M.A.Qadri, Chief Dauda Kadiri and Mrs. Otunowo Oladipe are the claimants in the suit and as representatives of Ewade Ruling House.

The judge said that that the claimants were not aware of nor participated in the meetings purportedly held by the Ewade Ruling House‎ in August, 1991 which culminated in his unlawful nomination.

The Oba, Onakoya, and Head of Ewade Ruling House, Abdulwasiu musa-Adebamowo, Lagos State Government and Attorney General are the defendants in the suit.

The trial judge dismissed the counter-claims filed by Onakoya through his counsel, Babatunde Oshilaja.

She ruled that Michael Gbadebo is not entitled to be nominated to the stool as he is not a member of the Ewade Ruling House.

She ordered the Oba from parading himself as a member of Ewade Ruling House and should stop presenting himself on behalf of the Ewade people.
