Former President Goodluck Jonathan praised Nigeria’s U-23 team, Dream Team IV, for their performance in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Dr. Jonathan took to social media website, Twitter, to express his pride in the performance of the John Obi Mikel-led team as they beat Denmark at the Quarter-finals of the football contest in the Olympics on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

“I’m proud of the Dream Team victory against Denmark has pushed them through to the medal rounds #ProudlyNaija,” the former president tweeted.

Nigeria beat Denmark 2:0 and advances to the medals stage of the games.

The team would take on Germany in a few days in the semi-finals. This would take them closer to claiming the Olympic gold if they win.
