General Buhari Traveled To UK Without Informing APC Leaders – Report

With the Friday, May 29, 2015 hand over date approaching, it has been revealed that President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in the UK, made the trip without informing the leadership of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Thisday, General Buhari’s unannounced trip has caused considerable rancour in the APC camp with sources revealing that he travelled with only two aides, Seriki Abba abd one Mr. Tunde.The report further revealed that as soon as news of General Buhari’s trip was made public, a number of APC chieftains, including National Leader, Bola Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi hurried of to the UK in order to “fetch” the former Military Head of State, with Governor Amaechi reportedly opting to fly in the Economy cabin of a Lufthansa Airways flight after his last minute attempt to fly First or Business Class failed.General Buhari is expected back in the country on Thursday, May 28, 2015, just 24 hours before he will be handed the baton of leadership by President Goodluck Jonathan.General Buhari’s action has caused concerns in the APC as he is said to have a habit of keeping issues to himself and relying on old friends and Northern “backers”, breeding fears that he might alienate several members of the APC who were instrumental to his election.
