#Flashback: ‘Go And Die’ – Oshiomole’s Vile Words To A Widow You Need To See [WATCH]

Must read

A case of what could possibly pass for man’s inhumanity to man was portrayed in a video of Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s encounter with a widow in the state capital Benin City.

From the footage, Oshiomhole was seen ostensibly leading officials of the state on a duty tour around the city.

At some point, the governor stumbled across a roadside hawker who is a widow.

He ordered that her goods be confiscated while the poor widow knelt before the imperial governor, a former labour leader, begging for her little means of livelihood to be saved.

Amidst tears, the woman pleaded for mercy, and disclosed to the officials that her husband as a police officer before he died.

When he heard the woman’s pleas for mercy, if not for any reason, on the basis that she is a widow, Oshiomole screamed: “You are a widow, go and die!”

These words of the governor to a widow, though happened some two years ago, sounded harsh and unfair especially to anyone who understands what it feels like to belong to that category of poor women who after losing their husbands, try to engage themselves in some lucrative ventures just to make ends meet.
