One sure way to secure your job or position in an organization is to adhere to the laid down policies, standard operating procedures, rules and regulations, and acceptable behaviours. If you do anything contrary, you will be punished, but you will be safe and even rewarded if you comply.
The word of God was given to us as a guide, to let us know what to do and what not to do. We will have problems and not enjoy the blessings of God as long as we do things contrary to the word, and we will be rewarded if we comply. It’s as simple as that.
David said, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes.” (Psalms 119:67, 71). Don’t wait to be afflicted before you learn to do what is right! Making doing the word your highest priority and begin to enjoy the rewards of obedience and compliance.
