LOS ANGELES, USA – Actors Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are engaged, the couple revealed during their appearance at the Ebony Power 100 Gala on Sunday, 17 November, 2024.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the pair, who began dating in 2023 following their meeting at the same event two years ago.
Good, 43, proudly showcased her diamond engagement ring, while Majors, 35, shared his heartfelt emotions during interviews.
“Life is crazy—I’m crying to you—she is the most perfect, beautiful, divine, and powerful being that I’ve ever met,” Majors told Ebony on the red carpet.
“The fact that she said, ‘I’m gonna run with you,’ I’m with it. I feel great,” he added, visibly moved.

A Relationship Tested by Challenges
The couple’s journey to this announcement has been marked by personal and professional challenges, particularly for Majors, who faced legal trouble last year.
In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of misdemeanour assault stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
He was sentenced to a year-long counselling programme but avoided jail time due to his lack of a prior criminal record.
Throughout the legal proceedings, Good was a steadfast presence, attending court appearances and offering support.
Reflecting on their initial encounter at the 2022 Ebony Power 100 Gala, Good recounted their unconventional meeting: “This is the event that we met at—in the bathrooms. In the unisex bathroom,” she told E! News.
Majors faced professional setbacks in the wake of his conviction.
The actor, who was slated to play a central role as Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror, was dropped from future projects with the studio.
Despite this, Majors has continued to work, with his upcoming film Magazine Dreams set for release in early 2025 after being picked up by a new distributor.
A New Chapter
Good, known for her roles in Eve’s Bayou, Deliver Us From Eva, and Cousin Skeeter, has stood by Majors as they navigated both personal and public scrutiny.
The couple’s engagement marks a fresh start and a public declaration of their commitment to each other.
Majors, reflecting on the significance of his relationship with Good, said, “She’s been my anchor, my inspiration. Through all the noise, she’s the reason I’ve been able to stay grounded.”
The Ebony Power 100 Gala, where the announcement was made, celebrates the achievements of Black leaders in various fields.
