Hollywood actor George Clooney and his British fiancee Amal Alauddin arrived in Venice, Italy on Friday, September 26, 2014 for their wedding.
53-year-old Clooney and his 36-year-old bride waved to fans as they were whisked past St Mark’s Square and the 700-year-old Doge’s Palace in a water-taxi named ‘Amore’ or Love.
The couple were accompanied by the grooms parents, former supermpdel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.
The water-taxi took Clooney and his fiance to the Hotel Cipriani where they hosted a dinner for their friends and families Friday night.
A grander wedding reception will hold at the Hotel Aman, right on the Grand Canal, on Saturday.
A civil ceremony is expected to take place in the Palazzo Cavalli, near the famous Rialto Bridge, on Monday, September 29.
The guest-list for the weekend reads like a who’s-who of Hollywood glitterati, from Sandra Bullock and Matt Damon to Cate Blanchett, Ellen Barkin, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The bride stepped out in a beautiful red waterfall dress for the dinner on Friday night which was attended by their friends and family.
