Woman Arrested For Selling Neighbour’s Child For N250,000 In Delta

A desperate housewife who lives in Akwukwu-Igbo community near Asaba, Delta State, Eunice (surname withheld), has allegedly stolen a two-year-old neighbour’s baby and sold it for N250,000.00, Leadership reports.

The woman had been arrested and detained by the police officials in Asaba command while investigations into the crime had taking a full force.

It was learnt that she sold the baby to a woman who had been childless for 18 years in Lagos but was not too lucky as she was caught.

On the fateful day, the mother of the baby also Eunice’s neighbour had pleaded with her to look after the baby while she was out to but some food stuffs in a nearby market.

Instead of taking care of the baby, Eunice simply called the woman who bought the baby from her at the rate of N250, 000.

Confirming the incident,  the state police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, disclosed that the police arrested the woman from a hotel in Ore community of the state following a tip-off from reliable sources.
