LONDON, United Kingdom — British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo died in Bangkok after undergoing a cosmetic penile procedure, a London inquest heard.
He was 43 and died early on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Evidence presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court showed that hyaluronic acid used during the treatment entered Ubiribo’s bloodstream and reached his lungs, causing a fatal pulmonary embolism.
A post-mortem examination conducted in Britain found cellular material in his lungs that was consistent with the filler administered during the procedure.
Pathologist John du Parcq said the substance appeared to have entered Ubiribo’s vascular system during or shortly after the injections before creating a major blockage in his lungs.
Ubiribo had received injections totalling 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine at an unidentified clinic in Thailand.
He had travelled to the country with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, and the couple were staying at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok.
After leaving the clinic, Ubiribo and Allen went for a massage. During the session, he reported chest pain and lost consciousness twice.
An ambulance took him to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially able to respond to questions.
Allen informed doctors about the cosmetic injections, but Ubiribo lost consciousness again before clinicians could conduct a proposed CT scan.
Doctors diagnosed a pulmonary embolism and transferred him to intensive care. Resuscitation efforts continued for more than 100 minutes but were unsuccessful.
A report on the inquest said Ubiribo’s medical records showed that he had previously undergone joint surgery and was being treated for pre-diabetes and gout.
The post-mortem examination found no underlying cardiovascular condition that contributed to his collapse.
Ubiribo had more than 100,000 followers on Instagram and was known for documenting his lifestyle online.
Reports said he owned a home in the Crenshaw neighbourhood of Los Angeles and an apartment in London.
He married Allen, a fashion designer and socialite, in Zimbabwe in 2022.
Ubiribo was later buried in London.
Those who attended his funeral included the Nigerian musician Davido, Cubana Chief Priest and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.
