ABUJA, Nigeria — The Nigerian military offered a ₦30 million reward on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for information leading to the arrest of Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, whom it declared wanted in the South-East.
The Joint Task Force South-East, Operation Udoka, announced the offer in a wanted notice identifying Okorienta by the name “Gentle The Yahoo”.
The task force described him as a threat to peace in the region.
The military said the reward would be paid for credible information resulting in his arrest.
It urged residents to assist security agencies in locating him and to support efforts to reduce violence and criminal activity.
People with information were directed to contact security authorities by calling 193 or 0806 795 9570.
The task force said callers could provide information anonymously.
The military warned members of the public not to approach Okorienta if they encountered him.
Instead, they were advised to notify security officials immediately through the designated telephone numbers.
Okorienta’s photograph appeared prominently on the notice, which included the messages “Give Peace a Chance” and “No Violence, No Criminality in the South East.”
The announcement followed an increase in security operations targeting people suspected of involvement in violence and other crimes across the South-East.
