INEC Appeals To Politicians To Respect Electoral Rules

The Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Sokoto State, Muhammad Musa, on Thursday, October 02, 2014 revealed the appeal made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which urged politicians to obey the set rules and regulations of the electoral process in order to maintain a free and fair election in the 2015 general elections.

A part of the statement goes thus, “As such, each and every stakeholder must contribute his or her own quota in order to achieve the desired objective”.

According to Punch reports, the statement disclosed that the release of the Notification for the 2015 general elections was according to the provisions of section 30, sub-sections 1 and 2 of the Electoral Act 2015 ( as amended).

“The notice of the 2015 general elections has been released and pasted at the state headquarters of the commission in Sokoto.

“Same had also been done at the headquarters of each of the 23 local governments of the state,” the statement, added.

However, the presidential and National Assembly elections would be held on February 14, 2015 as revealed by the statement.
