The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday disclosed that it has recruited 10,432 ad hoc staff for the conduct of the August 9 governorship election in Osun State.
The state acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Segun Agbaje, who disclosed this during a press conference in Osogbo, said the ad hoc staff would be deployed to all the 30 local government areas in the state.
He said: “These ad hoc staff were sourced from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) corps members in Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo and Kogi states; students of Federal Polytechnic, Ede and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; and staff of federal establishments in Osun State.”
He assured that both sensitive and non-sensitive election materials will arrive all the polling centres timely on the election day, adding that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a successful election.
