IPOB Labels Arthur Eze a ‘Security Threat’ for Creating Fulani Settlement in Anambra

AWKA, Nigeria – The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has escalated its rhetoric by declaring Arthur Eze, a popular Nigerian businessman, “a security threat to Ndigbo” following his involvement in creating a Fulani settlement in Anambra State.

The statement was released on Friday, May 3, 2024, by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, who vehemently criticised both Eze and Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for their roles in this controversial development.

In the press release, Comrade Powerful urged the immediate evacuation of the Fulani, whom he referred to as terrorists, from Enugwu Agidi near the zone 13 Police Station at Ukpo.

He accused both Chief Eze and Governor Soludo of being “two Fulani puppets” who are setting up a “timed bomb in Anambra State and the entire South East” by fostering communities for Fulani herders, often blamed for various forms of violence.

Powerful questioned the motives behind such settlements, especially given the vast land available in the Northern regions of Nigeria.

“What exactly is Fulani Caliphate using to hypnotise or pressure some of the Eastern politicians them to agree to create Fulani communities in the East?” Powerful asked, suggesting a hidden agenda aimed at positioning “their terrorists for conquest.”

He further called out Chief Eze’s lack of substantial local investments despite his wealth, stating, “Arthur Eze has not built any industry in the region, despite his acclaimed billionaire status. The only investment he is bringing to Ndigbo are Fulani terrorist Communities.”

Powerful’s statement also targeted Governor Soludo, criticizing him for yielding to pressures that undermine the region’s security due to political ambitions.

“Desperation for a second term has made Prof. Soludo succumb to pressure from the Fulani hegemony through Arthur Eze,” Powerful articulated, painting a picture of high-stakes political and economic manipulation.

The press release paints a grim picture of local leadership allegedly compromised by external influences, positioning the actions of Arthur Eze and Governor Soludo as not just political decisions, but potentially harmful acts that could lead to significant unrest and insecurity in the region.
