Jeb Bush Drops Out Of US Republican Presidential Race Following Underwhelming Finish

Must read

“Jeb Bush, unable to muster enthusiasm for his presidential bid beyond the family network that helped him raise a record sum exceeding $150 million, is suspending his campaign following a disappointing finish in South Carolina,” Politico reports.

“The decision follows a string of underwhelming primary finishes for the former Florida governor, including in New Hampshire where he invested heavily and bet on a massive ground organization but still finished behind Donald Trump, John Kasich and Ted Cruz.”

Washington Post: “As he departed the ballroom where he suspended his campaign tonight, Jeb Bush had tears in his eyes… Only a handful of staffers and supporters were aware of tonight’s announcement before Bush took the stage.”

Harry Enten: “Let’s be real: Trump upended the 2016 campaign, and Bush was his most prominent casualty. While Trump has attacked almost everybody, his biggest early target was Bush.”
