Must read

KADUNA, Nigeria – Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has dismissed several high-ranking officials from their posts.

The assembly clerk Bello Idris, a permanent secretary, Yau Yunusa, and the secretary of the Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency, KADEDA, Francis Kozah, were among those immediately relieved of their duties.

Muyiwa Adekeye, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, made the announcement in an official statement.

He also noted that the Governor has accepted the retirement of Stephen Joseph, another permanent secretary in the administration.

The statement read, “The Kaduna State Government has announced the immediate disengagement of Yau Yunusa Tanko, a permanent secretary, Francis Kozah, secretary of the Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency, KADEDA, and Bello Zubairu Idris, the Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.”

The abrupt dismissals mark a significant shift in Governor El-Rufai’s administration, though no specific reasons were given for the disengagements.

Observers of the political scene in Kaduna are watching keenly for any further clarifications from the Governor’s office or possible indications of the administration’s future direction following these notable departures.

The sacked officials have yet to make any public comment on their disengagement. Meanwhile, the Governor’s acceptance of Permanent Secretary Stephen Joseph’s retirement further emphasizes the changes in the state’s administrative hierarchy.
