Barely 24 hours after leaving office, former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwakwanso has been taken to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by pensioners in the state for allegedly depositing their pensions – which is said to be about N2 billion – in Euro Bank, which was later liquidated.

The petition which was signed by Barrister A.B Bulama Esq, seeks an official explanation from Kwakwanso as to why the case was not followed up at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Also petitioned was the Commissioner of Finance and the Accountant General of the stat, what was accused of withholding their pension which they claimed had run into N19 billion.

“For this and many more we ask the EFCC to do a thorough job to unravel the fraud done in all issues relating to us,” their petition read.
