LAGOS, Nigeria – A grisly discovery along a dusty road in Lagos State has led to the arrest of a man suspected of being in possession of human parts, according to police officials.

Alfred and an unidentified accomplice were traveling on a motorcycle from Imota toward Shagamu when they were intercepted by the police.

Upon being stopped, both men attempted to evade the officers, leaping from the motorcycle and dashing into the nearby bush.

“The officers reacted promptly, giving chase,” said Police Spokesperson, whose name was not immediately available.

“Unfortunately, we were only able to apprehend Alfred while the other suspect managed to escape through the intricate bush paths.”

Upon searching Alfred, the police discovered two cut hands, suspected to be human parts, preserved in a liquid that appears to be alcohol, all stored in a plastic bucket.

The suspect’s motorcycle and phone have also been confiscated.

“The items we discovered are deeply disturbing,” the spokesperson continued.

“We’re currently undertaking further examination to establish the origin of these remains.”

This chilling incident has further tightened the grip of fear in a region already grappling with high crime rates.

Law enforcement officials, however, have vowed to bring the second suspect to justice.

“We are deploying every available resource to track down the fleeing suspect and bring him into custody,” the spokesperson added.

“We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.”

The arrest of Alfred and the ongoing manhunt for his accomplice underscore the ongoing struggle Lagos State faces in combating illegal activities and violent crimes.

Police efforts to improve the security situation are challenged by a complex mix of urban and rural landscapes, making it a hideout haven for criminals.

As of now, investigations into the case are ongoing, with Alfred expected to face legal consequences for his alleged involvement in the grim trafficking of human remains.
